As I am sure some of you will know my main Dinky passion is the military range of models.
Here is the third and last type of post-war trade box with three Light Tanks.
I will have a couple more things to say about these shortly.
Dave
Here are two Post-war Light Tanks
The early version with the green baseplate is on the right and the later version with the black baseplate is on the left.

What about the rare special presentation box below, Dave?
A wooden tea bags box of course :) , but it made a nice fit when I thought of demonstrating the differences between an early and later pre-war front cog-wheel. The early one (top right) is smooth whereas the later shows details in relief. The two gloss green ones on top are the pre-war examples, the one below is postwar, in deeper matt green. The base is the regular black, but the pre-war tanks have brightly shining green base plates. Look for the front wheel differences:
The Field Artillery Tractor is just a nice filler.
Best regards, Jan
Jan--That makes for a very nice display cabinet, and a nice size as well! Love those pre-war tanks, with their gloss paint and the markings.....very, very nice indeed.
Terry
Here is a camouflaged version of the Light Tank 152a. I understand that it was only available in the Mechanized Army Set 156 which was specially produced for the London toy shop Hamleys at Christmas 1940. I have copied a photo of this set from Jacques Dujardins Dinky Encyclopedia CD. This set was never shown in any Dinky catalogue, but only in the Hamleys advertisement - I like the line at the bottom of the page which says "DEEP SHELTER SHOPPING DURING AIR RAIDS"!
Although this example has a lot of paint chips and has replacement chains and a replacement cog wheel the camouflaged version is very hard to find. It still has one of the triangle markings on the side of the turret. I have one other camouflaged toy which I will post at a later date.
Chris.
Hello Chris,
Nice to see such a rare Light Tank. It looks like it has seen a battle or two, but I don't think there are many surviving models left out of these rare camouflaged Mechanised Army Sets. Well done for finding one!
Kind regards,
Rob
