With sadness I have to announce that Wim van den Berg, known as 'Dr Dinky' passed away earlier today. He had been battling pancreatic cancer for some time.
He was an active member of the Dinky community and lived in the States.
My condolences go to his wife Julie and all his family.
Dave
Thanks Dave,
Always so sad to learn of a fellow collector passing away. So much knowledge and enthusiasm gained over the years.
Chris Warr.
So did I receive the sad message from his family this morning. Wim was of great help by sharing his complete Dinky Toys image documentation with me. His professionally done conversions of well-known Dinky Toys into 'new' models are famous. Jan
Sad to hear the passing away of Wim, I bought a few pieces from him for my military Dinky toys and much appreciated his torough knowledge of Dinky Toys
I have been busy and not on the site the past few days, so I missed the notice of his death. It is so sad to lose another acknowledged Dinky expert, and the past few years we have lost so many....Peter Golden, the Richardson's, and now Wim. My sympathies with his family and all who knew him.
Terry
