Dear John,
In the thread for the Rex Liner you mention a promotionnal box for the 60G Comet without the names Meccano or Dinky Toys.
The box that I know shows both these names. Could you please show us the un-named promo box.
Thanks.
Jacques.
L.S.
The Lewiss promotional box for DH Comet has no printing on front, back and sides of the box were most other Meccano or Dinky toy boxes have.
For all further details on this very rare item see my article in The Journal April 2014.
Meanwhile my friend Reg has found another red Comet. So a picture of the box with two planes.
John took another picture of his red comet, which I found again looking through my files. This was one of those semi-mythic models that John had seen mentioned in some reference but nothing had came to light until relatively recently. He collected many special and unusual models and I know that he always hoped to find a colour box for 53a Dunkerque.
