Let's hope is right.

Time to get posting these off my "to-do" list, whether the website is fixed or not ... this is a collage of my acquisitions, or most of them, for 2023.

Some 2024 models also arrived this week, but they can wait ...

Wow John. Very impressive. Quite a haul.

You actually posted pictures on here and that’s been very difficult since the problems arose last year.

I like the 972 Cole’s crane with the black wheels.

The pictures are hosted externally (Dropbox) to make it work.

I love the late Coles crane with the black wheels. I overpaid mercilessly for it on an auction site (John Knox was another bidder and I’m pretty sure he was the foe who made me pay so much, but I love it — they seldom come up for sale).

A little experiment from me too, trying to post a picture with a pre- and post-war no. 47 Road Signs set:

Apparently this does not work!

You were on the way, butyou need to use proper IMG SRC tags, not that alternative syntax that some forums use.

Example: img src="https://i.postimg.cc/FRR7MTb8/dte47-IMG-8072.jpg" width="800"

The width part is optional but can prevent an image from being too large. Adding the angle brackets around the above code yields the following:

Those 47 sets are wonderful. As you know, it's hard to find the prewar one without some of the signs having disintegrated from zinc pest.

That's great, Jon, thank you!
I may have another try. But let's hope that the regular uploading facility will recover soon!
Then I will put some additional information in the correct 47 thread.
Kind regards, Jan

I'm glad you were able to figure it out, Johnny but I'll be glad when we can do it in-house. Your 2023 collage is very impressive, by the way.

Yes, I hope we can do it in-house soon. Meantime, thanks for the compliment on the collage. Alas, 2023 was supposed to be a year in which I acquired no more Dinky Toys, since there is no more room to display them. But obviously, the addiction is hard to beat. In fact, six models have arrived for 2024.

Were all addicted and there's no cure!

These arrived this week. I should have made a New Year's resolution regarding no more Dinky Toys, but I'm not sure it would have done any good.

Very nice. Seems like you have conquered the moribund photo posting here with great success.

I don't ever remember the TR7 in white, must be a scarce variant. All I saw when I was a kid was the red and the blue green is seldom seen.

The French 885 Saviem pipe truck is one of my favorite French Dinky toys and good to see all the plastic stanchions are intact. Mine is the oddball with the unique metal stanchions.

Until quite recently, I wasn’t aware of the blue green and white TR7s — I only knew the red too. It seems like the white one is the rarest of all. I guess it could be the rally version that escaped having its markings put on?

The London Transport 410 van is of course a John Gay model, with those late wheels. I’d never try to get all of these (I just have 24 or so), but since I lived in London way back when, London Transport had extra meaning. I wonder if the stickers are the same as were applied to the Routemaster?

Hello Johnny

The Fabulous Dinky Toys Encyclopaedia would welcome the photos of the white TR 7 which I was not aware of and the blue-green one which could be a better photo than the one I have already but these photos are too small and in low resolution. Could you please kindly provide much larger photos without the boxes ?

All the best

Jacques
