HI Ron,
This is a 23 Racing Car, not a 23a. It was announced in Meccano Magazine in April 1934, first made from lead (as yours, I think), then Zamac, abandoned end of 1934, when a new casting appeared for 23a Racing Car.
A rare and nice example you have got here, Ron, still with its original white tyres.
Congratulations and Regards from Thailand
Walter
Hi Bas, that's quite a fleet of 23/23a models you show us! These red hubbed ones look very similar. I presume there are some subtle differences in characteristics, or are they basically the same? Kind regards, Jan
Hi
The yellow one is a Dinky copy, made by Johillco, lead, produced in the mid-30ies.
Regards
Walter
Txs Walter for the learings, the yellow one is exit...@Jan, the red hubs look all similar, as far as I see. See also image of inside.
Hi Bas
When you say "the yellow one is exit @Jan" I don't understand. Have you thrown it in the bin??? :)
Hi , no, I did not throw the yellow Johilco in the bin :-), but txs to the feedback it is no longer part of my Dinky collection. And my other response was to Jan in relation to the set with red hubs...
