Just wanted to say how much I'm enjoying the DTCA members section; some excellent articles posted over the last few days, I particular enjoyed the The Dinky Toys Road from Design to Toyshop article; where on earth did the photos come from?
As a new member I also recently received my January copy of The Journal, a really splendid read which included an excellent article on the 00 Gauge Figures some of which I have just added to my own collection.
The information available to members from both these sources is excellent.
Keep up the good work.

:) Hi Stuart. It's good to see that you are enjoying the DTCA which is what it's all about. Dave Busfield does a superb job with the Journal, and Peter's work on this site is unbelievable. We need more enthusiasts to swell our ranks, so please tell your collector friends about the DTCA. David Dawson - Chairman
Hi Stuart, most of the pictures have just been swept together from some Meccano Magazine issues!
Kind regards, Jan Werner
A question for Peter.
Peter, on some of the forum threads, the right part of the thread, where the sender's details are supposed to be, does not appear. What seems to be the problem and how can it be solved? Hope you are well, congrats for the beautiful job and have, as well as all the other DTCA Members, a wonderful Easter.
Jacques H.
I expect you are using Internet Explorer as a browser. The problem is that IE does not support resizing of windows properly. I have a screen 1440 pixels wide and it cuts the display off at the sides. Mozilla Firefox which I also use allows the full width of the screen to be used and this effect is not manifested under Firefox or Apple Safari. I don't know how Google Chrome and Opera work but I suspect that they will display pages properly as well.
The problem all web developers have is that all these browsers behave differently. I know the issues with resizing in IE are wewell known but they have not yet been fixed. We don't have teh resources to test and fix the software for each browser and version of browser.
In the meantime the solution is to use Mozilla Firefox or Apple Safari, available on PC and Apple (or any of the other browsers).
I will look at seeing if I can constrain the margins to fit within Internet Explorer's limitations.
Hi
Is there an April edition of the Journal?
I have not received my copy and while I appreciate the problems the Postal Services have with current flight restrictions wanted to check....
Thanks
Hello Stuart
There certainly is an April edition, it was mailed on April 15th, with the auction catalogue for May 8th. Some members have rceived their copy, Jose in the USA for example. Others are still waiting. I imagine some mail caught "the last plane out" whilst other missed the deadline. If yours is not there mid-week, email me at dinkytoyscollector@yahoo.co.uk> and I'll get another pack to you. David Dawson chairman
I can confirm its arrival in the Netherlands last Friday (and enjoyed it very much)!
Kind regards, Jan Werner
David..and Jan
Thanks, I suspected the problems with air travel was the cause.
Regards
Stuart
Hi Everyone
I must apologize to everyone, I had a severe problem with the software I use to create the April 2010 Journal and it did not get mailed to the printers until 25th March. This normally would have meant members in England would get their Journal on time but overseas ones may be late.
There was then a totally unacceptable printing delay which was completely outside my control, this meant the journals were not available for posting until the 14th April.
I am now assessing alternative printers, and also streamlining the production process, to ensure that members are not inconvenienced in this way in the future.

Journal Editor
My April Journal arrived this morning (Friday), an excellent read so far (I should be working!!).
Thanks everyone concerned.

An important and useful job, you guys! And no doubt playing with the toys afterwards as a reward for the hard work.
And which Lalande de Pomerol this time? Kind regards, Jan
No Jan.
This time it was a Bourgogne, "special cuvée".
And of course, a lot of fun !
Richard
Dear members,
We know that it's not very important for you, but we are happy to advise you that the first DTCA french section meeting in 2019 was hold yesterday.
As you can see it on the photo, we worked like hell but always very seriously and we did not appreciate the presence of a paparazzi !
You can see it on our faces !
Kind regards
Richard
Well, Richard, I wouldn't mind working like hell this way.
As it happened, this morning I got the message from the board that next AGM in Derby will take place the 29th of June, at the familiar place, in the Hallmark Inn. No doubt more details will show up soon in The Journal and on the website. Kind regards Jan
Dear Jan.
You are very welcome to the next meeting, to help us in our never ending works.
I think that I will not go to Derby this year. The date is not convenient for my wife and I because of hollidays with children and grandchildren in july.
Any way, I was not at the meeting last year and, as you can read in the journal of july, the committee did not realize it !
So, there or not there, it's not important.
Kind regards.
Richard
