Dinky Toys and Dinky Toys collections on video

More and more Dinky Toys, Dinky Toys collectors and their collections show up in videos on YouTube and elsewhere. This thread could be used for bringing videos like that to he attention of the visitors of this forum.

Today I found a short film about the amazing collection 'L'Auto Jaune' and its collector Vincent Espinasse. The collection includes 7.000 items, among them many unique, and is very often referred to in the well-known books about French Dinky Toys.

The link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s70IKx7fl5Q

You will feel very small and trivial ...

Kind regards, Jan

Publicising of your collection can affect your insurance as a relevant fact.......just a thought.

I was OK till I saw the 28/1 vans. Then I nearly fainted.
Funny how so many of the very rare Liverpool Pre Wars go to France, John Hemley's Bentalls went to a French collector in '93-4 if I recall.
Maybe we don't have the money over here, or are these seen as more valuable in France because they are from overseas?
Either way a superb collection, good to see a collector with the ability to do what we all would given the chance.

Hi Terry, if you cannot see it, possibly YouTube has deleted it. I have sent it to you privately. Regards, Jan

Those were interesting to see again........thanks for posting them. The gentleman in the second video, Martin, .......... I can't imagine having that many toys, totally filling both his house and attic. And none were enclosed in glass display cases......can you imagine even trying to dust them all, plus most were very crowded together. Quite a collection!

Hi all,
That loft reminds me of a trip my Dad and I made in the very early 70's to buy some model railway stuff, I can't remember where it was, other than it was in Birmingham, but the blokes loft was stacked floor to ceiling on shelves with Pre 60 Dinky, all mint. The boxes were stored in drawers, he must have had 100 Fodens, all you could see was grilles. He bought them all new, unboxed them and put them on his shelf. He was in his 70's then so I often wonder whatever happened to them, Rob probably has a few if they went to auction!

Hi all,
Here's some Binns Rd footage, looks like the 30's 40's with an 80's soundtrack?

Two commercials with Dinky Toys.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r3z0ODxC9II

In this one you can win a Mustang, Ford Gt, Saab, Cortina Rallye, Spitfire or Lincoln Continental.

This is a commercial from the Australian Dinky importer.

Does any one know how to down load a video from Utube ?

Jacques.

A very nice presentation of our beloved Dinky Toys range. Wonderful to see how many different types of models were made during the existence of Meccano Liverpool. Upon seeing this presentation the disappointment about the termination of production and the closure of the factory will again overwhelm us. At the same time, we can be pleased that Dinky Toys were made in such a large number and there are so many left that collecting them is still a great hobby. And ... such a collection is becoming increasingly valuable. Keep them rolling. It is one of the best videos about the history of Dinky Toys I have seen.

Thanks for sharing this. Jan O.
