Here is an extremely rare version of the dragon tractor as it is fitted with hard rubber wheels and not tracks.

The wheels are original as they were definitely fitted before the axle ends were crimped.
This version was not known about for some time but it eventually emerged.
There is also a version of the 152a Light Tank fitted with the same wheels.
I can only assume that this was at a time when either the chain, or metal, was in short supply and Dinky were forced to fit the wheels in order to sell the vehicles.

Fantastic Dave, and very rare indeed, I still need to get a tracked version! This one is early Post War I presume? Were these sold loose as well as in the sets? Or were the sets Pre War only?
 Chris Warr.
One of these was on e-bay within the last two weeks, I bid, but as usual was outbid, it went for £92.
This was the one that I bought.
