-677 Armoured Command vehicle (1957-62)

Some photos of this remarkable model and the real world vehicle will do, I presume, as a lot of information can be found on this tmt discussion of April/May 2006:

Nevertheless, a continuation of this discussion is welcome here, of course! Kind regards, Jan

If you visit www.suezcanalzone.com page 7 a frontal view is shown of a real vehicle. weighed in at 25 tons. Used in Middle East and Germany BAOR.

I'm fortunate enough to have a friend who owns an example of the real thing. I took the opportunity of comparing my Dinky.

That is a unique comparison opportunity indeed. Thank you!

Did you manage to take pictures of the entire vehicle as well?

Kind regards, Jan

Hi Jan,

I took a couple more pictures but it's surrounded by other vehicles and not easy to get a good shot, especially with my phone. Maybe next time I visit I'll take my camera and take some better pictures.  The owner wants to restore it and take it to Normandy for the D-Day commemorations when it's finished. He also owns a Mark IV Panzer, a Sherman, a BARV, and numerous other WW2 vehicles. I'm lucky with my friends.  :)

I recently acquired this trade box which is meant to contain 3 Armoured Command Vehicles- (I only have 2 of them). What I would like to know is whether there were originally inside dividing partitions to prevent the ACV's from scraping together? The box is very plain with the same information on both ends and the amount 5/4 written in biro also on both ends.

regards,

Chris

In my opinion this kind of box should contain three boxed models, not loose models (which would demand dividers indeed). Kind regards, Jan

Jan,

I am sure that is the correct answer.
