A concise 20-22 April 2012 DTCA AGM weekend picture impression

Hi all, over one week ago already we had another nice, well-attended DTCA AGM weekend. The venue was the Gaydon Motor Museum. It was a very suitable and hospitable place for the meeting itself, for accommodation of the displays and items to be sold and of course - last but not least - for a visit of the exciting museum itself, all included for those present at the Annual General Meeting. At a very reduced rate we were welcome with the early batch of visitors to the N.E.C. Birmingham Toy Fair on Sunday.

The venue, the Gaydon Motor Museum

Opening the Annual General Meeting

Very nice items on display ...

... and for sale

The Gaydon Motor Museum is impressive, including many 1:1 Dinky Toys

Among them record cars like Gardner's MG Record Car

And well-known prototypes like the Rover Cyclops

For you to check if the Dinky is OK!

And the famous Austin Atlantic

Have another check!

Also a lot of pictorial stuff like this

Fortunately Dinky thought of modelling that one too!

An finally a nostalgic illustration of a half cab like this

And as a dessert the N.E.C. Birmingham Toy Fair on Sunday. Big but not really specialized in older model cars. Hey, some DTCA members in business there!

I could not help buying a little souvenir, the 62m Light Transport Plane (1945-1949) in good condition, much cheaper than I have ever seen ...

Hope to see you next year!
Best regards, Jan

Looks like it was a great weekend! Wish I had been able to make it - maybe next year.

Gaydon looks like a superb museum. Is that an "almost a Corgi Toy" Road Rover I see in the background?

Great pictures Jan. Yes it's amazing how many classic Gaydon vehicles have been modelled by Dinky. I havn't been able to stop thinking about that brilliant Saturday at Gaydon and the Sunday NEC fair. It was an excellent AGM (my first attended)and a pleasure to meet and chat to members. The night in the Manor Hotel Meriden was superb and the meal and endless chatting was a treat. What an excellent venue Gaydon was for the AGM.
