--49 and 780 Petrol Pumps Set (1935-54)

Within the article on the pertrol pumps, each pump has a "name" descriptor associated with it (i.e., shell). Were the other pumps names after gas/oil companies?

Bob :) :)

It says in the article, near the beginning:

"Note that the names Bowser, Wayne and Theo refer to the manufacturers of the pumps not the fuel company"

The only pump named after a fuel company was the Shell one and of course the Pratt's oil bin was as well.

Just a quickie. This is how they used to sell Pratt's Motor Spirit around 1913:

Thanks I missed that comment as I went through the article.

Petrol Pump Identification on What's New

It took me a couple of minutes to note that 2 of the pumps are behind 2 other pumps. Maybe it would be more benefical to have all 4 side-by-side? Also how common was the blue variation that is in the back? Should color variations be noted in this identification section?

Bob, you are referring to the brief article about Pumps that I placed in The Dinky Identification Section in the public area. This is purely to help people identify non Dinky items that are offered for sale mainly on eBay.

If you take a look at the full article on 49 series pumps I have written in the members' section your questions are more than answered.
