This small Dinky Toys model should not be forgotten. This model is part of the Series 27 Farm Equipment, which consisted of approximately 12 Farm related models produced from 1948 to 1973. Based on the images in the brochure below, it could be a version of a Massey Harris Disc Harrow.
In the photo below from 1957, the Disc Harrow is being mask sprayed painted at the Meccano factory in Liverpool. The already red painted Disc Harrow is pushed into the back of the mask and the 2 x 4 upper flats of the front frame, which are visible in the mask, are being painted yellow with the spray gun. In the close-up photo is this better visible.
Next to the lady on the table are 4 Disc Harrows of which the top compartments in the frame are already painted yellow. There are 2 red painted Disc Harrows ready, whose upper compartments still need to be painted yellow. The photo shows that the tow bar on the Disc Harrows are not yet attached. This towbar gives more play value to the model, but for the real disc harrow this is of no use.
There are colour, casting and box variations that I hope will be supplemented by members.
