Christmas 2024

May I have the honour of being the first to extend Christmas (and other) holiday greetings to all DTCA members, as well as other Dinky Toy collectors who may be reading this?

2024 has been a very difficult year, what with the loss of more Dinky collecting friends, the political and environmental issues worldwide, "social" media that spread hatred and misinformation, and (it must sadly be added) no chance to upload photos to the DTCA website for more than a year and a half. What will the new year bring?

But, the point of the holiday has always been birth and renewal, of light coming out of darkness. I hope that 2025 will see meaningful improvements for the DTCA, but, more important, happy collecting and enjoyment of Dinky Toys for all, as well as health and happiness for you and your families.

I echo the above, hoping that sanity will prevail among the leaders of nations in our ever-changing and dangerous world. Also that Dinky collecting will continue or grow, and that we can all add quality items to our collections in the future. To that end, I'll be going to swapmeets at Birmingham NEC and Doncaster over the holidays, looking to fill a few gaps. Wishing happiness, good health and prosperity to you all.

I also wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and above all have fun collecting Dinky Toys.

What I find very positive is that more members have joined since December last year. On 29-12-2023 the DTCA website counted 215 users and 374 registered users. Now on 20-12-2024 the website counted 221 users and 421 registered users.

Let's continue to support the DTCA and continue to have fun in contact with each other.

I wish all of you the best for the new year, mainly a good health and a lot of new Dinky Toys to your collection.

From tomorrow I will be away for three weeks from my own computer but will try to keep in touch. Do not worry if I do not answer questions.

In 2025, I will still chase new variations to add to the Encyclopaedia, there must be many more to discover, this month I have found four unlisted variations.
