Although jewelled headlights had been first launched in September 1963 on the Holden, the Imp was issued in November of the same year without those headlights.
In April 1965 Chris Jelley informs us of a new type of headlights : "a brand new type of "glass" headlamp trade name "Hi-Lite"" but he does not describe these lights any further so that we do not know if the "glass" lights on the Imps were jewelled or Hi-Lite.
When the Imp rally (ref. 214) was issued the ref. 138 was deleted from the base plate, this is an other variation.
To try to sort the various variations, could any one who owns Imps answer all the following questions for the 138 and the 214 either here or to dinkycollect@free.fr ?
For the silver base plates, please specify if this is painted or bare zamac.
