-500 and 011500 Citroën 2cv (1974-1978)

As I wrote in the "new arrival" topic, I open a new one for the Citroën 2cv.

For Meccano, it's the third version produce, numbered 500.

On the first photo below there are four items : on the left, the grey and the blue body are "made in France".  On the right, the grey body is "made in Spain" and the petrol blue is a "made in Spain" by PILEN model !

Little story about the PILEN model in my collection : few years ago, in my parents home, I found in a chest of drawers a Citroën 2cv box (see the first photo of boxes : it's the one on the top, marked "made in Spain")

When I opened it, I was very surprised to find a Pilen model  !!!! New mystery.

I suppose that it was to verify that the new box and the next Citroën "made in Spain" fitted together ! Other idea is welcome !smiley

The boxes are very similar but, on one small tongue the red printed inscriptions are different.

Photo 4 : the base plates

Photo 5 : a small shade of colour : more grey for the french and more beige for the spanish

Photo 6 :Dinky against Pilen : seats and steering-wheels

Just a word on the 011500 reference : when Citroën changed the look of the front lights, Meccano followed !

The body and the base-plate are identical to the 500 "made in Spain".

That's all folks

Friendly yours

Richard

Superb but it seems that the front grill is not original. Will you drive it to the AGM ? David could come with his Champ and me with my Europa 2000.

Sorry Jacques but, this year I will not go to Derby.

My oldest son is getting married the same day !

I think that the front grill is original but not the paint !

It's the same grill than on the leaflet.

The original blue did not please me and I choose an another blue smiley

Friendly yours

Richard

[No marriage to be expected, so I'll be there, I regret to miss both Richard and Dave and their 1:1 Dinky Toys.

Kind regards, Jan
