--25t Flat Truck and Trailer (1946-51)

Hi all, I do not want to split hairs, but the combination above is no 25t, as the truck is a 25a Wagon.

I found some relevant photos in my files:

This combination couple seem both to be 25t, but this goes for the grey one only, they really belong to each other.

This green one, as you can see, is made up of non-matching models: the Flat Truck is a late fourth type and the Trailer is an early post-war example with smooth hubs.

For fun this photo, showing the 1950s versions of this combination too, a green and a red 30r Fordson Thames, with later version Trailers (no official combinations but good matches). The single Trailer in the foreground is the French 25g, with different front planking and bogie casting details.

Kind regards, Jan

Here is my 25t Flat Truck with Trailer, in red. I bought both of these together many years ago from Keith Harvie, but I do not know if they originally came together. The truck is the last version, type 4, and both have the later ridged black wheels.

Regards,
Terry

Lovely pair Terry!
I love the detailing on the T decal, even the tiny red reflectors are on there.

The other day I found a quite nice example of the green no. 25t Flat Truck and Trailer, replacing my hybrid, not consistent green combination, which was shown above already. That one is a (post-1948) type 4 no. 25c Flat Truck, accompanied by a smooth hubs (1945/46) no. 25g Trailer. The present one is a genuine 25t, with matching 25c and 25g, the truck being of the third type (1946/48), with high front wings but closed chassis, tiny diecast hook and matching tinplate bar of the trailer.

The result now is a grey 25t with a 2nd type Flat Truck (with three triangular holes in the chassis), a green 25t with a 3rd type Flat Truck, and the remaining single green 25c 4th type  Flat Truck and a single green early post-war no. 25g Trailer.

One question remains: I see on all three flat trucks an odd 'irregularity' on the extreme rear right platform tip. On my grey second type this seems to represent 'something' and on the other ones it appears to get more and more distorted. Any one have an idea? Kind regards, Jan

This one for the record: a type 3 Flat Truck making part of a 25t combination in mid-blue with a shade of purple (a subtle, nice shade which I do not manage to reflect exactly in these photos). Kind regards, Jan

Jan--  Here is my orange Type 4 Flat Truck with matching trailer.  I bought these together from Keith Harvie many years ago, so am assuming they belong together, but no proof.  I do not seem to see the irregularity on the right rear of the truck bed yours show, but I will have to pull mine out and look closer.  Sorry for re-posting this....I just realized I had submitted this earlier......

      Best regards,  Terry

An early post-war no. 25t Flat Truck and Trailer, with 2nd type Flat Truck, smooth hubs and white tyres and the same matching Trailer.

We have seen that one come along indeed some years ago. A remarkable example. Obviously the die did not work properly.

By the way, this is a 25a Wagon, with it red wheels probably a type 4. Kind regards, Jan

Multiple use of a picture: Flat Truck and Trailer.

Sometimes a photo is characteristic enough for multiple use. In fact it is about two photos, one of the Flat Truck and Trailer, which I showed above already, and the other one shows a variety of 25g Trailers. I combined them together for an attractive composition and used the result for the cover of my private annual Dinky calendar. Satisfied with the result I decided to write an article on this combination for Auto in Miniatuur, the final issue of this year, which fell on my doormat today, featuring this photo. Kind regards, Jan

Jan--Always love and appreciate your photos, and this one does not disappoint.  Very nice and interesting composition, with the older truck and trailer, with their white tires, in the center.  Nicely done!
     Best regards,  Terry

Another question. The 25t reference is for the vehicle and trailer as shown in your pictures namely 25c & 25g, 25g can be purchased individualy out of a type 2 trade box of 6, it is included in the price lists, and together with the 25c out of a combined trade box of 3 (have examples).

My question could the 25c be purchased separatly out of a trade box of 6 like models similiar.

Before you all shout of course, why does the 25c not appear in any English price list (not been able to check any overseas price lists) and why can I not find a 25c trade box anywhere?
