Richard---Very nice! I always liked this one as well, and the turquoise color works well with it.
Best regards, Terry

Thank you Terry.

Is there a DTCA member with all the variations in his collection ?

I would be pleased to see a photo with all the Sunbeam together.

Friendly yours

Richard

I was just recently looking at my two examples of the Sunbeam Alpine (one is the competition finish, the other is the touring version), and for the first time noticed a distinct difference between the two:  the louvers on the hood are much more pronounced on the touring model than the earlier competition version.  After further examination, I also noticed a change on the front radiator grill...the touring model has the top part of the silver grill shortened, being replaced by a much larger painted area directly above it.   I doubt that these were actual thought out design changes, but likely necessary due to die wear in those areas.  They may have made a conscious effort to enhance those louvers, as they are barely discernable on my competition model.  But to me at least, the touring model louvers are too prominent now, and detract some from the appearance.....I think something half way between the two would have resulted in a softer, better look.

Has anyone else noticed this?  I would be curious if others have the same findings.

                Best regards,  Terry

Hi Terry.

Look at my above photo and you will see that the red and the turquoise touring Sunbeam have important louvers but that the light blue touring on the right has almost a smooth hood.

Best regards

Richard

Hi,

Thought you might like to see my 101 Alpines with spun hubs.  They are a bit rough but quite hard to locate.
