1413 Citroën Dyane berline (1968-78)

I already had the french version but not the "made in spain" one !

This morning I got it and now I can compare the models.

The differences between both models are much more numerous than  J.M. Roulet wrote in his books and than we can read here and there !

So, to complete the observations already made (position of the reference number 1413, the rear axle structure and "made in france" or "spain"), here are the others variations :

1) On the spanish model "Dyane" is engraved in the bonnet (as Jacques wrote in his encyclopedia) but also in the inside plastic roof.

2) The screw-head is different (but we know, as it's a moving piece, that it can be change ! I don't think in this case)

3) The rear red wheels-way are much bigger on the spanish version.

4) The encraved technical and dating mentions "1/43°" and "68" have disapeared on the spanish base plate.

5) The silver painting is applied under the rear bumper on all the surface.

6) The engine's front with no space in the spanish version (as in the english version ref. 149)

I hope, you will be able to see all these modifications on the photos below.

Friendly yours.

Richard

Richard,

Sorry, I missed your post which you wrote while I was on holiday in Alsace / Lorraine.

Thank you for this review of the French and Spanish Dyane.

There are a couple more differences on the base plate.

• The marking which was "Meccano Triang" on the French issue has become "Meccano France s.a."
• The reference number 1413 is written the other way around.
• The luggage have been lost some where.

The base plate has been modified from the English one with the wrong suspension. The Brits had fitted leaf springs at the rear of the Dyane but this never was on the actual car.

To fit with the British base plate, Pilen had to use the British tool for the interior with the wider rear wheel arches.

There were no outings or over boxes for the Spanish Dinky, they were packed by six with shrinkable film.

My French Dyane has plastic Dunlop tires, how are the Spanish tires ? (The spell check must be American)

All your finds will be added to the Encyclopædia without delay.

Jacques.
