Thanks, Jacques, for thinking of me. Indeed, a choice of many more to be posted by others.
Remarkable picture, though. Note the Dinky Toys hubs and the (probably) contrasting colour for the mudguards. I expect to welcome my 13th example of this fire fighting icon one of these days. Kind regards, Jan
On this photo from Vectis there is a label on topof the box. Does anyone know what this lalel reads and is there a readable photo of it ?
The same label can be found on a Massey Harris tractr box.
For the Avelng Barford, the first line reads "Dinky Toys No. 25P Aveling-Barford Diesel Roller" and the second line reads "The front roller can be set to steer in any direction."
For the Massey Harris the first line reads "Dinky Toys No. 27A Massey-Harris Tractor" and the second line reads "The front wheels of this model are adjustable for running to left or right."
Johnny,
Many thanks for this info, I could not read the text.
Are there any other boxes than the tractor and the roller with such labels ?
Jacques -- I do not know of any others with such labels, but I am no trade box expert. I only searched for additional images from Vectis following your intriguing question. Perhaps a member who collects trade boxes will chime in?
i am surprised they went to the expense of these labels when trade boxes were not intended for the customer, and dealers should already know of the steering features from a catalogue ....
