In regard to the three publicity photographs, at these prices, I doubt if I would have scored one Dinky Toy! The Australian prices were roughly the same in 1949, 501 10/6 and 511 6/9 In New Zealand in 1953, the 501 was 13/6 and 511 8/6. As you said, most of the former British colonies used Pounds Sterling. With the prices shown on those photographs wherever it was it must have been very isolated with expensive transportation.
