-101 & 107 Sunbeam Alpine (1955-1960)

Terry,

In July 2010 after the DTCA AGM I stoped to visit the Shuttleworth collection of aircraft which includes the DH Comet G-ACSS Grosvenour House winner of the 1934 Mac Robertson air race from London to Melbourne.

Outside the hangars a meeting of the Sunbeam Talbot owners club was held and a dozen mint Alpines were on display. Here are a few of them.

Jacques.

That is a beautiful line-up of Alpines! There were only four colours available on this car, the one not shown here being Sapphire Blue. The light metallic blue in the picture was known as Alpine Mist and would have looked great on the Dinky Toy.

As a follow-up to the real cars above the Dinky model below, the light blue one, competition finish, available in the period 1955-1959:

And one of the real Sunbeam Alpine, but now a contemporary b/w picture, with a happy looking lady driver at the steering wheel.

Kind regards, Jan

Hi Jan.
Here is mine.
It looks like the seats are not in the same colour as yours ??!! Yours is white and mine is cream !

My Sunbeam collection :

Tomorrow, I will search in my cabinet, because I have the feeling that there is one missing !

Cheers

Here are my two Alpines, both bought original around 1959. I am also including a photo of a very nice example that I saw a few years ago at a concourse in San Diego. I think Dinky did a pretty good job with this model, except that the front fenders are not as graceful as the real car.
Regards,
Terry

Hi everyone.

I just fished this one !

I am very happy because this model is very rare as you know ! Turquoise body, blue seats and cream hubs !smiley

As soon as I receive it, I will post a photo of all the family together.

Friendly yours

Richard

And the sister in Turquoise color and blue hubs joined the Turquoise and sand hubs ! smiley

Second photo : the two Turquoise with a light blue to determine the color variations.
