Here are two completely different dealer boxes for the 140b/156 Rover 75 Saloon.
The yellow box is the traditional trade box and reasonably easy to acquire.
The grey, dual numbered trade pack, with the Hudson Dobson label for the USA is an altogether different proposition and very rare. I have never seen one before. I now need a nice boxed dual numbered Rover to go in it.
I can't part with my playworn 140b Rover as my grandson loves to play with it.

Hi Dave, a nice couple of six-packs you have there!
Well, here is a replacement for your play-worn cream Rover:
By the way, I think it is useful to notice that uploaded pictures should not exceed 600 pixels in width. If they do, the right margin information suffers from that or gets even totally hidden!
How do we make this known to other posters?
Kind regards, Jan
What you have just said is news to me Jan.
I thought that the maximum size in either height or width was 800 pixels.
Dave
Well, it might be 640, but not much more, I believe.
On talkmodeltoys it is 755.
Kind regards, Jan
Hi Jan
If you go to "Help" and scroll down to "Images" it brings up the following message:
Please note that the images must be no larger than 800 pixels on the largest dimension. You will get an error if you try and load an image that is too large in the Forum.
This is why I was using 800. They are fine on my monitor but it is a big screen. Does anyone else have problems seeing the whole image???
Dave
Hey, that is remarkable: this restriction goes for using Explorer! I have a very wide screen too, and now, alternatively trying Mozilla Firefox the much wider page is presented! Is that warning also included in the Help facility? Anyway, in Explorer the picture is fully visible, but the margin on the right of the column is just shrinking and losing information. Perhaps good for others to know!
Regards, Jan
Yes, I have the same problem. I did have some exchanges about this with our dear Peter, but he didn't have a solution for it. I still cannot read the right column.
Good afternoon everyone, I keep buying and have bought some fantastic items recently but have some questions on some trade boxes that carry no reference numbers. They are all figures from the sets1-6 and there are six models in each box. The boxes are green with end flaps at each end and a yellow label wrapped around them. Also have the postal men 12e and the cooks agent 13a also in their respective green trade boxes.
Also interesting and need some explanation is that the 50000 reference numbers are used on other models.
Think they are early 50's as the grreen s the same as the sets of figures. However the yellow band label is a strong plain yellow different to the 12e & 13a box wrappings.
They are;-
Newsboys with box ref 50030.
Conductors ref. 50035
Hotel Porters ref 50036
Fitters 50032
Will get the photos soon.
David
Hi David,
is this what you are talking about ?
I have not yet seen one of these boxes with a 50 000 number.
These numbers are the box reference, this system was used from 1950 until the first yellow boxes were issued in 1953. A couple of yellow boxes have receined a 50 000 number such as the 23g Cooper Bristol.
When you post the pictures of your boxes, please see that one can see the 50000 number.
A list of the 50 000 numbers can be found in the Encyclopaedia.
