Dear all, for me it was a surprise to observe that the silver trim (that is, the spray mask used) of the front bumpers of the Leyland Comet with Hinged Tailboard can be different.

The no. 419 on the left has a wider strip of silver than the older no. 532 on the right.

Comparing this with two other Comets I see the same pattern: the (late) no. 418 Cement Wagon on the extreme left has the same difference with the (early) no. 531 Lorry on the extreme right. Could others confirm that this is a general pattern, a general difference for the 400 and 500 numbers? And, what do the rather short-lived intermediary 900s show?
